    Arrow Going out

    Hey all-

I am going out to get a male rat today. After quarantine I'll be placing him in with my two females. Wish us luck and fertility! I'll get pictures of the handsome gentleman as soon as I can.

I got him. He's about three months old, a birkshire, very well endowed. One thing. He sleeps on his side.... Is that bad? He's not panting, he walks straight, doesn't do the tilt thing....

With my colony the only time a rat sleeps on its side is when it has something wrong with it(maybe a dozen or so in 6 years). ...and they usually don't last long at that point. But I am not an expert so I don't know specifically if it is a sign of sickness or not...I just know it is with mine
