Only 3 out of 17 eggs fertile?

I candled my eggs and found out that only 3 are showing the veins, all others are clear (some already started getting mouldy - see other post), is this a normal percentage?
17eggs = 2 clutches, just to make sure...

3 out of 17 is a horrible percentage for fertile eggs. How are you incubating them? What temps is your incubator set at? What are you using to control temps? How are you measuring temps and where? What is the humidity in the egg boxes and how are you measuring that?

Not normal at all from what I've seen first hand and have heard from others. Are these two first time mom's that had those clutches? I've heard that first timers some times throw duds, but not always.

A few questions we'll all need to know to help you further...
What kind of incubator are you using humidity, temps... and what are you controlling the temps with what are you using to read those temps and humidity?

    Figured that,

problem is the eggs came like this - they didn't die during the incubation, so my two females produced infertile eggs.

Incubator runs at 31.5C (+/- .1C) at a humidity of 88-95%, herpstat ND and a digital humid-meter installed.

Sounds like something could be up with your females or the male you bred them to?

Was it by the same male? He might be producing bad sperm...

Ouch...did you candle them when they were first layed? Outside the setup questions already asked...how big were the parents? proven breeders?

I got a WC that layed 8 and only 3 were fertile but in her case I chaulked it up to the travel stress (not to mention she laid in the car while heading home).
