Gestation is 20 days, then figure in 5 weeks of nursing, then a resting period before being introduced back to the male, then start the cycle back over again. So, you're only getting one litter from a female every 12 weeks or so (3 weeks gestation, 5 weeks nursing, 2 weeks resting, and another 3 weeks gestation - IF she gets pregnant right away)
