New to the site
Whats up guys, im new to this site and forum, im am planning on getting a ball python, and im doing my homework on them before i buy it to make sure i know how to take care of them and everything, i have a question about feedin them in a seperate tank, i know that after u feeed them u shouldnt handle them for like e24 to 48 hours, but if i feed him/her in a seperate caontainer, how long do i have to wait to at least put him back to his regular tank? and what kind of thermastat and humidity guage would u guys recomand.

You don't have to feed in a different tank I feed all mine in their tank.
But if you do be careful some will stay in feeding mode for hours after eating and you might get bit.
and what kind of thermostat and humidity gauge would u guys recomand.
I use helix dbs1000 on all my racks and Accurite thermometer/humidity gauge for humidity.Stay away from the dial and strip thermometers and hygrometers they have a bad habit of being bad wrong.
Hope this helps and agian welcome.

Hello and Welcome! You'll get great advice and support here........... the care sheet section has volumes of knowledge as well!

Welcome aboard!
As has already been noted, it's not necessary to feed them in a separate enclosure...but if you feel like that's what you want to do...it won't hurt them to very gently scoop them up and move them back to their own home. Just don't "play" with 'em...and be sure to support the whole body, not just grab 'em around the middle.
It's always great to see someone wanting to learn about a new pet before they go out and buy it!

Re: New to the site
make sure you have two hides of the same size. Just your thermometer/ hygrometer and sounds like your set. If your using a glass tank heres a good visual on how to set it up.

They don't need any special lighting. Just room lights are fine.
