    New to Breeding.

Have a few questions about breeding. If you have a 100% het and a normal what are the chances of producing a morph? Also do you need both to be HETs and does it matter if its male or female?

Sex doesn't matter. Here's a very helpful link:

If you put a het with a normal, then all of the offspring will appear normal. They will all be 50% hets.

Prove it out by breeding or buy from a breeder you trust

Het means that they have the gene but it is not visible. The snake should look normal at this stage.

0% chance of producing a visual morph. The allelles of a recessive gene need to fall from both parents inorder to create homozygous(visual) offspring.

100% het x normal = all offspring are 50% possible hets

    Re: New to Breeding.

    A pastel is a morph.
Pastel is a co-dominant morph, so breed a pastel to a normal and you get pastels and normals.
