egg question
Gosh I'm full of questions today lol.
i see that there is wrighting on eggs. what is it for? the date that they should hatch? what they could be? the parents? why I'm askng is because I'm planing on doing some more art work in the near future and I want to make a cuple Egg Clutches.

It is to indicate which one is to be fried, or scrambled or poached or... , I believe some people mark which side was up in the cage so they don't rotate them, or they write laying date, but i am not positive.

I think they mark which side was up so they dont get turned while they are transporting them.
Because if the eggs gets turned the embryo could drown.

Per Kevin's book, he uses a pencil to mark the top of the egg and sometimes numbers large clutches.
1.1 crazy dogs
4.3 even crazier cats
2.2 bps
2.0 Off Track Thoroughbreds
0.3 human kids
1.0 Boyfriend who puts up with the craziness

Yea pencil or marker. Some people do it to Id the animals like for me its clutch year 07 clutch # that year 5 and the number of that animal 55. so on the egg i would write 5-55.
When it hatches you'll know then that egg #55 of clutch #5 was a male spider and so on.

Great idea, I think I will use that when I start breeding (Whoo hoooo I should have at least 3 females ready by the start of next season!)
