it might have been that your were feeding him to much during the warmer months. they also slow down in the winter sometimes not even because of temperature. i believe it has a lot to do with barometric pressure changes that they sense telling them to slow down.

mind telling us what your husbandry is, how big your ball python is and what your feeding schedule was before he stopped eating?
