So, Idgey and Mia and Snitty all had their litters. I didn't get any photos of 'the doomed ones'. It seems if I take a photo I tend to keep them. SO, I waited till I had everyone fed off that I was going to feed off and here are the photos of the lucky ones as well as a photo of my brand new future breeder male. I haven't sat down and named them yet, still working on letting their personalities shine.

Something hooded dumbo female (Becky, what IS this girl? When she was a few days old you could see she was hooded, as he fur came in I thought she was going to be cream but it ended up fading to a just off white, you have to know she's hooded to realize it. Almost an isabella color.


Double rex dumbo male, he's male so I don't need him but he was just too dang ugly to feed off. I really wish one of you lived in my area and had kids. He's a doll and would make an amazing personal pet.

The one that faded is either a siamese or a himalayan.. the color fades until there's just dark points (the nose and the butt and feet are darker color) It's because their pigment is temperature sensitive.. the cooler parts of the body have a darker pigment. If those rats are kept in a cooler room, they develop darker color.

Shelby, they are kept in a cooler room. I didn't think either Siamese or Himmi because her baby color didn't resemble either of those, she's an odd one that's for sure.

Those babies are so adorable....All of them. It must be hard to feed off such cute little things! I try to feed my snake my adult asf rats so they dont have that cute baby face......lol

Is there red-eye dilute Buff/beige in these lines? The almost white ones if they aren't himis or siamese they could be blue-buff (platinum?).

I have one of those and he looks a lot like your pics, an almost invisible hood that's a VERY light silver gray, you almost can't see it unless the light hits it the right way.

She's definitely not platinum. I'd bet she's a Black Eyes Siamese(not himalayan as her coat isn't creamy enough) or Black Eyed Cream and if she's a siamese, she will get her points soon. I think I'd give a leg for one of those.. And a Burmese, and and and...

ANYWAY

Blue-based platinums have red eyes and can't see for beans. I have one and she sways like a drunkard to focus, LOL.

Well, I didn't notice the eyes, just the almost not there hood, and all the other blues. Mine has red eyes too, haven't noticed the poor eye sight yet, he's still pretty young.

She looks like a BEW (black eyed white), but there are other possibilities.

Black Eyed Himalayan -Body color to be white with beige points on the nose, feet and root of the tail. Beige shading not to extend above the eyes on the face, beyond the elbow on the forelegs or beyond the hocks on the hindlegs. Ears and tail to be lightly pigmented. Eyes Black.

Himalayan are white based, with light nose points and a ring around their tails.

Himalayan are generally born completely white, rarely showing any color at all.

Black Eyed Siamese -Body color to be light beige, gradually and evenly shaded over the rump and hindquarters towards the belly, being darkest at the base of the tail. There should be no white or very pale areas anywhere on the body, feet or tail. Tail colour to extend down the length of the tail. Belly colour to be light beige. Points to be a rich dark sepia and to shade evenly into body colour. Eyes black.

Siamese are creme based, with darker points and "pants" that get darker as they get older.

Siamese show color before their first molt.

If she is more of a creme color now, then she is probably a siamese with her points underdeveloped.

If she's white now and gets the smudges in at 12-14weeks(first major molt, she's a himalayan.

Hope this helps. I'd cut off my right leg for any of the three.
