Eye missing???

I just pulled my python out of his tank and it looks like his eye is missing. The place where his eye should be is sunken in and has puss coming out of it. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I have called around and people think is may just be recessed but I have no idea. I am cleaning it out and watching him for any other signs of illness... A few weeks ago a man at the reptile store took masking tape to his eye to get the caps off--he is a rescue and wasn't looking too great. He ate great two days ago and I monitored that so I know the rat did not hurt him... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my gosh that's terrible. I'd take him to the vet asap. If not, wait until the experts wake up to give u some other advice.

Hmm... well, tape can be VERY dangerous and should never be used to remove eye caps. It may have something to do with that. Other than that, all you can do I think is to take it to the vet.

First get this animal to a vet NOW! I know its late but first thing in the morning call a herp vet and get an emergency visit. Tomarrow an infection in the head could lead to much much worse things.

This is very dangerous with the tape bit. If done wrong it could damage the eye. Sounds like the eye got damaged and there is an infection that may have resulted in the total loss of the eye. Did you notice any thing with the eye prior to the puss?
