    chicken broth

my uncle used to own 2 bp's that were housed together when i was a kid. but i remember that he said what he does sometimes as a treat is get a live rat and 1 can of chicken broth and puts the chicken broth in a bucket or container and then drops the rat in there and lets rat move around for a few seconds. then he dunks it real good and puts it in the snakes feeding tub.. is this good for the bp? he said has vitamins and minerals for them and all. anyone know of this or done this?

I've done it with a f/t to entice the snake to eat but it seems kind of cruel to do to a live rat. Dunno

I would figure they'd get most of the nutrients they need just from eating the rat.

I've never heard of anyone doing that, and I can't imagine that it has any positive benefits. In fact, the scent could confuse the ball python since they tend to be imprint feeders. I believe that feeding an appropriate sized rodent will be more than adequate in feeding any ball python.

hmm...i wonder if mice in nature get magically dipped in chicken broth just before the snakes comines in for the kill

i probably wouldnt take a chance or test it...as stated, especially if my bp has no problem with eating
