    humidity?

i bought a accurite monitor like suggested to me 2 weeks ago. but since i got it i put the probe under the cool side hide and i have 1 probe on hot side hide with both read out monitors mounted on my wall. my humidity only says 21 or LO max was 27... i have a auto humidifier in the cage and i have a room humidifier in my office she's in to maintain humidity. temperatures right now as i write this is 92.8F hot side and 80.4F cool side... my wife threw away the manuals as soon as i took them out of the package. so is the digital screen supposed to be in cage to give correct humidity read-out? its on my wall like i said and 20% seems low when i have 2 humidifier in there and i mist the tank 3 times a day. right now the tank glass is soo humid i can barely see in there.... digital screen in tank?

nvm im a idiot. i took the whole 4 seconds to take it off wall and put in cage and humidity reads 61% OMG!!! opening top for a second to let a lil out and get at 50%

I put the probe on the warm side. I think most others do too.

How are you getting the humidity so high? Where are you living?

    Re: humidity?

lol sorry you said that in your first post...it just slipped my mind.

Also, i forgot to mention, you should fasten the thermometer probe to the warm side where the snake's belly will be. by putting the unit on the warm side, you're measuring the ambient temp, not the true belly heat. the belly heat is what you want to be accurate.

    Re: humidity?

I put mine right where the snake intends on lying. Move the substrate around and tape it down real good to the glass, under the hide...one piece of tape won't do.

That's my way, others may have different ways.

    Re: humidity?

as far as the actual montior can i tape it to the inside back glass right above cool hide? cause subtrate isnt soaked but is damp from the 76% humidity. so i placed the gauge on top of the subtrate and it spiked. i picked it up and its at 49% to 52%. whew! thanks again

    Re: humidity?

i placed it on glass 1 time right above the UTH and it said 110F so i put subtrate...alot of subtrate on top of it and its at about 95 sitting on top of subtrate. i get my reptistate 500 thermostat today soo i should be able to regulate temps a lil better. i have a day time basking bulb and a night time basking bulb (red).
