    Breeding Survey...

I am a member of Redtailboa.net. Recently there has been an ongoing debate involving the health of morphs as well as normal type snakes. It was mentioned that there is NO collection of data to prove one side or another had higher mortality rates for their off spring. I am trying to gather as much information about clutches that others have had so we can compare and see if Morphs DO INDEED have more health problems during gestation and birth. The information that I am asking for is this

If you breed, or have bred and have PRECISE records of what was bred and the results, please post em here so we can measure up how morphs fair against normals.

    1. parent types (what morph or normal or het or whatever)
    2. number of living offspring
    3. number of preemies
    4. number of slugs
    5. number of living offspring that died within 1 month
    6. of the offspring in # 2-5, What were they? (albino, poss het, normal, etc)

Although I will add that if anyone who is posting breeding stats knows of a possible explanation for their failed attempt (ie. too young animals being bred, improper temps, illness during pregnancy, etc.) Please include that as well

You can send me a message via email aprilmavros@yahoo.com.

You can just post it here.

Whichever is most convienent for you. Please spread this message around. The more information we can collect, the more accurate our stats will be.

I will be reposting the information in one place, at RTB (because this is where the debate started)

If you are interested in the origional debate, it can be found here- http://www.redtailboa.net/forums/jus...toculture.html

The survey along with the results I have collected from various forums is located here-

I will post the statistics on any site that has contributing members. Thank you for looking and for any help you may give

    Re: Breeding Survey...

Well, Ball pythons are TOTTALLY diffrent from Boas. They don't give live birth..etc. Maybe you can get a mod to move this to a Boa section!
