Strange feeding behavior

Hey all,

My new BP has had two meals since I brought him home and seems very content. But I have a question. During both feedings there was no strike and there was no coiling of any kind. I feed F/T mice. I do the mouse dance and my BP just comes over to the mouse and swallows. The first bite is not forceful at all, he just sizes it up, opens his mouth and bites the head. Do any of you have BP's who do this on a regular basis? I guess im just spooked about all the IBD posts about non-agressive feeding as a symptom. Thanks!

maybe he's just smart

mine falls for the zombie mouse dance every time, and I just have to laugh

I have seen that before, they can learn fairly quickly that if it smells dead and looks dead it probably is dead. so there is no reason to do the whole show and expend any uneeded energy.

They will eat dead items they have not killed as long as it not to long dead. In the wild they can't be picky

it's possible that he has been eating F/T for awhile now and has figured it out. As long as your snake is coming right out and eating it without a lot of hemming and hawing, I don't think it's 'non-agressive feeding'


yeah...I am creeped out and paranoid right now too though!
