    Light

I have a male gecko in a 10 gallon tank with a heat pad which keeps the tank at 95f and the a day lamp, I want to setup a 20 gallon tank for two females, can I use a UVB light for the day, or does that strees out my geckos? I just want to know if they like to be dark or just normal like a 12/12 cycle?

How many females can I have in a 20 gallon tank?

    Re: Light

Leo's are nocturnal. They do need 12 to 14 hours of light. You can use a regular household light bulb. They don't need UVB. They get that from the D3 dust you put on the crickets.

    Re: Light

no extra lighting is needed for leos unless you need it for the heat. ambient room light is fine.

is the tank a 20g long (as opposed to a 20 tall)? you can comfortably keep 3 females in a 20 long.

    Re: Light

Like said above, leos are nocturnal, no light is needed unless additional heat is needed, in the case that it is needed, go with infared or other nocturnal bulbs. UTH work best for heating leos, belly heat is most important for digestion etc..

    Re: Light

i think you can fit 2 adults in a 20 tall. it's a bit longer than the 10 gallon isn't it?

    Re: Light

20 high is about twice as tall as a 20 long, not quite as long as a 20 long. 2 should be fine in it.
