Bedding Thickness
How thick should the bedding be? Think one of the reasons im having such a hard time is my bedding is too thick. Im about to switch to the brick bedding stuff to try and get my humidity up, yup, still having damn problems with that. but right now i get this mulch stuff in there and is half an inch to 3/4 an inch thick in some areas.

Re: Bedding Thickness
Hmm... I think it depends on the substrate, but I'd say between 1/2" to 1" thick should be fine. You don't want it so thick that it insulates the heat from a heat pad or that the heat pad has to be turned up so high that the snake will risk a burn if it decides to move the substrate around and lays on the bottom of the cage.

Re: Bedding Thickness
When using a UTH....I prefer a very thin layer of bedding. Just enough to absorb wastes and any spilled water....changed frequently as needed. Too much bedding means my UTH has to be hotter than I am comfortable with.
