    Mouse help...

    Hey all-

I have two feeder breeders that I've had for a few months now. No babies, but they are young still.

The female is all beaten up from the male and looking at her closely it seems her ear has been torn.

I have an extra 5 1/2 gallon tank handy along with bedding and food. I have a few questions. If I reintruduce them once they both get bigger will they fight? Also can mice drink from a bowl? It will only be temp. till I can get to the store tomorrow.

Since i only have the two mice, I know they a social will they be ok for a while seprated? Or should I look into a buddy for the female?

I am kinda at a lost as to what to do. But the female is getting beaten up badly...

They just like to cover up the water so no one "finds" it... *eye roll*

But yes, I've kept them separated before and they do just fine. The male will start to stink ALOT faster though, IMO, being alone. If you can, get about 5-6 more females and just stick them all, plus the male, in a 10-gallon and let them have at it. The aggression will be more evenly distributed and no one should get picked on more than anyone else(or we'd hope).

    Hey all-

I went ahead and picked up a water bottle today and 2 female fancy mice. As you guys said the bowl I had in there was trashed, bits of food and tons of bedding.

Here are some pictures of my newest additions. The first one with the black spot on her ear had a sperm plug in her when I checked her out at the store, she also seems a bit fattier than the other one.
