    About to Shed?

Hi everyone i was noticing that her skin is becoming to look a little faded since we first got her and also her eyes a bit too. the guy at the pet store didn't say when she last shed, so is this enough evidence to assume she will shed? just wanted to make sure, so i can get the humidity up so she can feel a bit more comfortable... current temps...Hot Side Ambient: 85-87 F ; Hot Side Ground: 90 F ; Cool Side Ambient: 75-80 F ; Cool Side Ground: 80F ; Humidity: 50-60%

Sounds like there is a good possiblity your snake is starting to go into shed. If the skin looks dull or faded, possibly a pink belly, eyes have a cloudy look to them. I would kick the humidity up to around 70% and keep it there until your snake sheds. I do this with my snakes and they have had perfect sheds when I do this. Once your snake has shed give it a looking over and check for any spots that may have not come off, if that is the case you can soak your snake in some water temps just above luke warm water, you dont want it too hot or too cold. Let it soak for about 15 to 30 minutes, put enough water in to just cover your snakes body, and put in a rock or half log so it can rest its head on it. After soaking you can take a soft damp towl and gently rub the left over skin away, or put it in a damp pillow case for a little while and the skin will come off while the snake is in it moving around.
Also make sure the eye caps come off as well. IF they didnt come off you can use a wet towl and cover your snakes head while gently but firmly holding your snake and let them soak in the wet towl after doing this for about 20 minutes or so gently rub and they should come right off. There is a method of using a peice of tape, but you have to be very careful so you dont take the outer lense off the snakes eye.
    Hope this helps ya.
