    Snake Cam

I thought this might be a cool idea. I had an ethernet camera laying around. Not 100% sure how this will hold up but I attached the camera to the side of the glass tank with mounting tape. I hooked it up to my day/night timer, no point in running it at night

    Snake Cam

Looks like he's checking out the camera:

Fun idea. I checked it out and it showed just the hide. Now how does it reset itself. I am on dial up so I don't know if it'll do it on it's own w/o me refreshing my page everytime.

What might work is if you use a blue bulb for an evening viewing if you keep the lights out around evening time, so we can see when your little guy is out and about. I don't think they give off heat and are labeled for nighttime viewing. Just keep it on for a few hours while he's out and about.

Again fun idea. I wish I could do that with my snakes and then set up a nighttime viewing too for my mice and rats.

Cute little one you got there too.

You have to use ActiveX or Java for live video feed.

Everytime you refresh it displays a new image, right now he crawled back in the hide.

I do have a blue bulb at night but the camera kinda sucks and you can't make out anything at night.

If you click java or activex you can use the live viewer (don't know how well that will work over my broadband connection)

Works well, refreshes every 2-3 seconds for me.

That's too bad the blue bulb doesn't work. Is there away you can angle the hide so we can view him snoozing or is it too dark in there for it? Don't bother with it if it's gonna disturb him, I know I hate being woken up from a nap, I am sure he doesn't like it much either.

What his name and how old is he?

It's too dark in the hide, even when I look in there at eye level I can't see hardly anything.

Actually I haven't come up with a name yet, i've only had it for about 2-3 weeks.

Not sure if it's a he or she or how old it is. It was labeled as a baby captive raised at the pet store
