    yikes

ok in my tank i have of course 2 hides, one on the hot side on on the cold side, and the last couple days everytime i go to sleep shes in the cold side, and i wake up in the morning and shes still in the cold side, and i pick up her hide and pick her up and she is freezing cold, so i move her over to the hot side and then she goes into the hot side hide. whats going on? (hotside is 90, cold is 80)

Hmm... you could pull the cool side temp up a little bit... that would help.

I think your temps are fine....IF those are your temps. If she's "freezing cold" when you pick her up from the 80* side of the tank....that tells me it's not really that warm there. What kind of thermometer are you using to measure temps and where exactly is it placed?

IF the temps are what you say they are...and the snake truly has a choice of an optimal range of temps to choose from...then you don't have to "force" it to go to the warm side...it will when it feels like it.

It could also be that you're experiencing a significant drop in temps at night...which would result in her feeling "freezing cold" in the morning. You need to make sure that the 80-90 range stays constant 24/7.

Are your two hides identical? She could be favouring one hide over the other.
Is your tank anywhere near a speaker/clock or anything else that might vibrate? That could be scaring her away to the other side of the tank.
It's also possible that when you go to bed she's sleeping on her cold side, and she wakes up, warms up, does her secret snakey stuff while you're asleep and then she goes back for a sleep before you wake up.

You might also want to check your accurite - I know it will give you the min/max temps within the past few hours (mine does anyway... it has a MIN/MAX button) and you could check if your heat is dropping through the night.

If your hides aren't identical, you can switch both of them for placement (former hot side hide on cool side, etc) and see if it's really a hide preference.
