    fixing her shed

when my snake goes blue, i have the humidity up around 85% and higher, and she still hasn't shed in one piece. i've had her since christmas of 2006 and she's shed 3 times already. she's 2ft. and 200g. born summer of '06? (she gets a very small rat every friday) i've even soaked her a couple of times. she generally sheds in anywhere from 5-8 big pieces. is there anything else i can do?

As long as all the skin is comming off, its not really a big deal if its in one piece or not. Depending on what they rub against/wrap around while sheding, it can tear it. So if you get a complete shed i wouldnt really worry how many pieces its in.

Ditto what piranhaking said! So long as all the shed is coming off, that's all that matters. It's cool if you can get a single, perfectly rolled up piece of skin....but most of the time it's filled with poop anyhow. But a complete shed is all you're looking for...not a "perfect" one.

PS -- Soaking before a shed can make it more difficult, rather than helping. Save the soaking for after a shed has already gone bad and lots of it are still stuck.
