Not that I would expect it to smell like a freshly baked cinnamon roll... But MAN. I offered Gabe another mouse tonight (he ate last Friday) and walked out of the room, walked back in and he was passing urates and diahrrea-like feces. Wow. That knocks you back a few feet. Then he got visibly stressed, I think because of the mouse being in there, and slithered right through the mess. Wonderful. Picture me standing there telling my snake, "For the love of god noooo!" Then he climbed on his hide and smeared it more. Did I mention this was exactly five minutes after I cleaned his cage and put new newspaper down? Oh I didn't? The smell was just pungent... I had to give him a bath, which I hated to do because he was stressed enough, but there was just no way I was living with that odor for any length of time. In short, he's back in his clean cage now and I'm not gonna bother him for a few days. An interesting evening to say the least.

And you might want to get a fecal check done at the veterinarian, just to make sure he doesn't have internal parasites. The majority of snake feces doesn't have a "loud" smell to it.

Sometimes it has what I call a "septic" smell to it.. kinda reminiscent of morning-breath taste.. ick!
