    Lightbulb Might be useful

I came across these today. They are heating elements designed my NASA, and they look like they would be a good replacement for UTH, flexwatt or even good to make radiant heat panels. $10 each with pre wired leads.

Why make the switch? Flexwatt is reliable and cheaper

I wouldn't replace my flexwatt, but it's pre wired for those who are hesitant. 12v and 85w for a 3x11" strip must get a lot hotter than flexwatt, and there isn't any plastic to melt, so I thought it might be useful for making radiant heat panels or other things I haven't thought about yet. Most of them probably not herp related. It's cheaper than heat rope. Maybe adding a couple of these to a wine cooler to slow cook ribs or brisket Just thought I'd share.
