    First soaking

*whew!* is she mad at me!!! I put some water in a little tub (I made sure it was warm enough) and I went to put Lilly in it for a few minutes. My humidity won't stay quite high enough so I figured a short soak wouldn't hurt. She thinks differently! I put her in it and she spazed! Just about jumped out of the tub...I got her in it and let her sit for about 5-10 mins. When I took the lid off she balled up so tight I think her head was under water, so I had to scoop her out really quick so she didn't drown herself in the little bit of water that was in there. I put her in a towel and she is in my lap, but she is one ticked off little girl. Any suggestions on how to make this a bit more "Lilly Friendly" next time??

Was it hot? You don't want it to burn her.

That's funny that she hated it so much, mine doesn't mind them at all. Maybe she was just a little startled.

It wasn't too hot, I could easily keep my hand in it with...I made sure and I even let it cool a bit first (but it was still warm)

Ok, that's good. I'm guessing she was just a little surprised.

I guess so...she isn't real fond of it when I spray her cage, but she doesn't do anything but glare at me and ball up a bit tighter. Apperently that should have been a hint How does everyone else go about it when you have to soak you snakes?

I don't, a healthy snake with proper humidity does not need to soak, I only consider soaking if I have a stuck shed problem in that case I put my BP in a rubbermaid container with luke warm water up to his back close the lid and place the container on the warm side for 30 minutes (only had to do it twice last year).

sounds like the water was too hot.you said it was warn enough, how warm is that? the water should barely feel tepid on the inside of your wrist, better yet check the temp,80-82 is fine.have fun !
