is mid 40's humidity to low?

havent got my snake yet, but ive been working on setting up the temps/humidity just right... and from what i can see so far my temps are about perfect at ~82.2 on the cold side, and 93 on the warm side.

but my humidity is around 45-47%. I can get it to go up quite a big higher like mid 50's or so just by misting the tank, but obviously i cant do that all day while im not home.

Im going to try adding a larger water bowl to see if that helps.. but if it doesnt, is mid 40's ok? I know the recommended is 50-60%

If you have a screen top you could put some saran wrap over about 50-60% of the top and that should help hold in some moisture. Becareful not to cover too much because you still want to have some airflow.

i put a small towel over about 60% of the top already.

i have a heat pad under the hot side, and just today (since my temps were about 10* to cold on the cold side) i added a 60watt CHE bulb on the cold side and its brought the temp up to where it want it.

i might try duct tape over the hott side where the towel is now. that worked pretty good last night on my old top that i had on there. I just switched to the screen top so i could use the CHE bulb.

mid 40's isn't too bad for this time of year! it's alot drier in the winter time. make sure you mist and bump it up around shed times..

Have you tried spraying the tank every few hours in the day? This helped when I used a tank and a 100Watt and a heating pad.

FL huh? and you have a humidity problem?

if you are using a bulb for heat, that is probably drying out the air. try covering most of the screen top like 80-90% of it. an under tank heater will help also.

ive already said that misting DOES bring up my humidity for a very short period of time, up to mid 50's which is perfect.... but obviously im not home all day to do so and can only do that at night.

i want a perminate solution so i dont have to do that

You could mist more often than usual untill you fix the problem, this is what I had to do. G'luck figuring it out
