Gah! I need a new rack....

That big thing isnt the best option anymore. I am thinking about stripping it down, and making mini racks out of it! Or should I just trash it and get plywood and 2x4s? My snakes are growing rapidly ( everything is bigger in Texas ) so I need sturdier racks!! Could someone give me some advise? Or is there a way I can renforce it?

Re: Gah! I need a new rack....

imo, that rack is too wide. it will bow/sag alot. i would build one using 32 qt tubs. single column not 2 or 3 tubs wide. build one 5-10 tubs high, use flex for heat, and use mdf, melamine, or sealed plywood like 3/4" birch with a good water based sealant.

the 32 qts can be used with a divider for smaller snakes

Just wondering, Justin... you had a thread saying you were getting rid of your collection and your racks in favor of a rap career? Did you change your mind?
