Cool I saw our National bird today.

This afternoon we took a ride to a area really close to our home today. We went in search of the American Bald Eagle! We were lucky at seeing 5 but the pics i took (new camera) were not clear enough to share them here .This was the first time seeing several at a time in the wild for us so it was something special. They spend a few months here during the winter months every year. Its amazing how a bird that large gracefully flies thru the air with ease .

Thats cool glad you got to see them in the wild. I have only seen them at the zoo but they are so beautiful.

Aren't they just breathtaking? I had the pleasure of seeing a pair flying when I was with my best friend at her house in northern WI.

We have them all over where i live, its not uncommon to see 6 or 7 sitting in a field. they build huge nest in the trees around where we live and we watch them fly around. we live by a lake and i have seen them swoop down and grab a duck then fly off, in fact today one of my teachers was mad because she raises sheep and a lamb was born last night in a the field and before she could put it in a barn an eagle swooped down and grabed it but could not carry it and dropped it and broke its legs and it died. but i think they are awsome to look at, and you dont realize how big they are til you get close to one.

I've gotten to work with one that had flown into a powerline. He was blind in one eye, but still amazingly strong. Not to mention they are HUGE birds! Too bad your pics didn't come out well, but at least you got to see them.

Yeah cardinals are great. Haven't seen a whole lot over the winter this year.
