    Red face Donkey Basketball?

They had a fundraiser Saturday night at the local High School and up until then I was in this very surreal reality that I wasn't living in a Hick town. I was wrong. The school teachers rode Donkeys and played basketball. It was insane crazy, but about as funny and wild as it gets. Here are some blurry pictures from across the court to enjoy.

    Mount up,

"I dressed you, so you are mine. Now come here!"

    "I'm open, I'm open!"

    "Stay still ya Darn Jackass!"

"Ref, get that ball for me, please"

And the losing shot from half court

I gotta get outta here!!! Someone save me!

We actually thought of that.. Nikes and Adidas for horses (horseshoes..) But turns out they already have similar horseshoes out there..

    Re: Donkey Basketball?

It was beyond funny. The donkeys kept trying to kick them off or run when they went to get on them. They even had a raffle for "Spot a Plot" which is kinda hard to explain, but I'll try...You purchase a foot square of the court and if the first "donkey dump" hits your spot, you win 500 bucks. It was crazy, I can't even explain how crazy. But it was fun as heck! haha

    Re: Donkey Basketball?

I know that donkeys are notorious for being pretty stubborn (at least compared to horses..) But did you know that they are also VERY great herd defenders/protectors? My friend has about 20 horses and one donkey; on more than one occasion she has seen him ward off coyotes from the herd. Horses will usually run; a donkey will actually fight more often. He will also follow around and watch any strange person that enters the pasture (I know, it happened to me lol..!) I was out one day to walk out and see our horse while she was boarded out there, and Donkey was right behind me everywhere I went, making sure I was not trying to hurt or steal any horses I guess. But after I petted him a little and fed him some green grass from the other side of the fence, I won him over.
