i missed the portion on you not wanting pied sorry.
It's okay. I have a few females that hopefully will take to it whenever I find one and my ultimate goal for now is a lucy.

I love the lessers and i also like the idea of getting a pinstipe too. I will be in the market too this summer and lesser is on my mind. Although getting a ghost to go with your pastel would be sweet. Ghost pastels are sooooo clean and pretty! So I guess I vote male lesser and female orange ghost. Best of luck with whatever you choose!

Personally I would stay away from Co-Doms and look at recessives. Unless you find a codom that is amazing looking and good price.

Any reasons you would stay away from co-doms?

Theres too much uncertanity with the prices and where its going for me. Pastels last year are a good example. It used to be 500$ for a lower quality but it dropped to 250$-300$. Some people may disagree but its just my opinion. Its one reason I went with amarali boas instead.

Co-doms, especially pastels, are still a good choice because the ones that mix well, pastels, lessers, spider, pin, etc. will always be in demand. The prices are going to drop but so what? All that means is more access to morphs= more interest= more future breeders and BUYERS!

Heck, for $2500.00? Just put it in the bank and wait another year or two and you should be able to get ALL the morphs for that price....

If I had 2,500.00 I'd buy uh ... Hmmm, I dunno what I'd buy to be honest. Maybe a Jackson V and a cool modded Marshall.

Right, and in that 1 season you could have bred that pastel to 5 normal females. Say conservitivly you get 20 eggs from 5 females. That should be about 10 pastels. Even if you sell those pastels at $200ea(which is low for females) you still make 2 grand in 1 season(and that is not even considering making Supers). I don't think that's too bad...IMO with codoms you either have to get in very early or very late. It's the people who get caught in the middle before the big price drops (that are inevitable and should be anticipated) that have to work harder to make their profit. With the prices the way they are now there is no way to lose money on pretty much any well established co dom. They may not make you rich, but as long as you don't kill them I don't see a way to lose money.
