My set-up and feeding tips.

After some remodeling in the tank I thinks is almost ready. Only need to put some fake plants and a background. What do you guys think? My temps are 91 on the hot side and 81 on the cold side with 52% humidity….I started feeding her frozen and she had no problem with her first frozen meal. My only feeding question is how do you grab the mice with the tweezers?







Is this Normal? She likes to climb a lot.

Those wire mesh tops can get hot REAL hot with those light right there

If she can get up ther like that when their on she will get burned. Perion end of story.

Other wise it looks good I'd take those limbs out to kee her from getting up there.

My only feeding question is how do you grab the mice with the tweezers?

You grab it by the tail and dangle it in front of your BP

Oh and Ed is right there is a potential for danger here with your BP managing to get close to those lamps.

You must have to mist like crazzzzzyyyy. I used to have mine in a 40 gallon tank sort of like that but it was meant for reptiles, and totally was not meant for a snake that needs humidity. If it is in your budget I would try and get an Animal Plastics cage! They rock!!! But if this is what works for you by all means use it!

you can also grab them behind the neck/shoulders and present them head first.

Yeah or you live in Florida like me and you almost need the lamps to remove the humidity on purpose. I'm at 59% humidity and I haven't misted in a week or more

I’m using 2 ceramic heat emitters on the top and an under tank heater for the hot side and each heat source gets a different dimmer. It took me about a day to get the right temperatures….I measure the temp of the wire mesh and it was 95 it’s really not that hot but I will try my best to keep her away from the wire mesh. She can actually go around the tank from the top its kind of funny.

I used to mist my cage a lot since in my house they like to keep the AC always on because having the AC always on really sucks out the humidity in the air. I bought an automatic mister from zoomed called “Habba Mist” and it really help to keep the humidity up. I have the automatic mister set up for every 3 hours a 15 second mist on the tank and keeps the humidity 50-55%.

Agreed. Now that I have 90% of the top covered in contact paper, I need to pull back a corner, throw on a red lamp and toss the cypress every few days to help dry it out a bit.

However, OP, I'd suggest UTHs instead of the lamps so you dont have to worry about that mesh getting too hot.
