Johnson T-stat
I just got two Johnson T-stats. One for my BP and one for the Short-Tail coming next week. But I'm having trouble setting them up. If anyone has one and can walk me through setting one up for my Short-Tail that would be awesome. I'm not getting the Set-Point, Differential, Anti-short cycle,Temp. Offset, Sensor failure opertaion.
Right now the Set-point is at 107 F.
Differential is 1
Anti-Short Cycle is at 0,
Temp. Offset is at 0
Sensor Failure is at 0.
It is hooked up to a 30-40 gallon Zoomed UTH. I would like to achieve a Basking spot of 88-90 with Ambient temps being 78-80.
ANY help setting this up would be grealty appreciated! I've read the instructions but still don't understand them.

your settings sound right, probe placement and your type of heat source is important. can you post a pic of setup and probe and heat source?

Pics I took last week. Don't have my camera right now. But I switched to newspaper and the probe is taped under the newspaper on the bottom on the enclosure where the UTH is.

if the tub is still resting on top of the tank, that is one problem. try putting it on a piece of wood and off the floor.the holes in the top of the lid may be letting out heat also. tape those holes up and if you need to add more holes do it on the sides. also last resort, go to a tub that is not as tall as that one, less air volume to heat up. or use a stronger heat source(larger mat) or flexwatt.

Would it just be better off on the ground? Ground is pretty cold though. Thanks for the suggestions! I will try and get back to ya!

Yea Well I'm getting a T3 Animal plastics cage in less than a month so I think he will be fine in the tub for now. T3 will have belly heat, and such and I have one for my BP right now and it rocks! I will have to keep it on top of the glass cage, I have tin for, under some Repi-Carpet, then the tub is on top of that.
Wish the snake in the avatar was mine.....lol. I will have an albino one day!

Dude! I know I think albino's are underestimated! Don't get me wrong there are plenty of awesome morphs out there but Albino's are so eye catching!
That your snake?!
