Hmm... there isn't really a "season" for ball pythons, nor is it likely you are going to get one for 20 dollars. If you buy one to be shipped to you, the shipping will cost more than that.
Do you have a tank set up? If so, what all do you have in it?

you can find them for that much at reptile shows.

should you decide to buy one from someone online (which there are plenty of people that will ship to you), it will cost ~$50 to ship. so don't be surprised if shipping is 2 1/2 times more than the snake itself.

    good luck!!

generic as in "wild type"? You can find the babies for as low as 15 at reptile shows. morphs start at a couple hundred bucks..but they're worth it

As for your tank, you need two hides, one for the hot side, the other for the cool. You don't need all of those lights if you're temperature and humidity are fine without them. The temp. and humidity can be monitored with an Acu-Rite digital thermometer, which you can get for a few bucks at WalMart.

    Other than that, good luck!

    Re: ball python newbie

the reason i have 2 is becaouse the tank is in the living room and their are allways people going in and out and in ohio it gets cold in the winter thats why i
have a daytime light (the 100watt) and the night time light(50watt red so at night i can drop the tamp to about 75-78 but i keep my house 73 and i was told that 73 would be to cool at night)
