Talking New Rodent room in action!

Well we finally got the rat room almost done. It is finished enough to be usable, but is still lacking a few beautificatioln projects and the plumbing and sink. Plumbing and sink to come in the next week. Also while I had the camera out, I took some pics of the snake room.
This is a picture of the A/C and window in the finished room.

This is the back wall, all ready for racks.

Here is a pic of the room after we moved in the rats.

This is the rat cage that we use for rearing, and Monica's pile of rat food. We are ordering an ARS Rat Breeding rack in a few weeks, and it will sit next to this cage. Alot of the rats in the cage are grown up females that are waiting for their new rack.

This is a picture of Monica's cabinets and where the sink is going to go, and the last piece of trim that has to go in the corners.

Thanks to Cueball for the next two pictures. These two pics are some rats that Monica was able to talk him out of while we were checking out Cue's collection. The first pic is a blue rat that Monica wanted, because she doesn't have any blues. The second picture is of a hairless rat that she got from Cue, Who knows what she is going to do with this.

These are some pics I took of the snake room, just because I had the camera out.
Some people have seen this view, but I took one anyway. This is a wall of CB-70's with a 40 tub hatchling on the left and a 60 tub hatchling on the right.

This is a picture of the original snake room, that turned into a rodent room, that is now reverted back to a snake room. This is a pile of Aspen bedding that I used to have in my living room, now it's in the snake room.

This is a wall that is ready for some more CB-70 racks. Right now it has a sack of Vermiculite and Perlite in preperation for incubation time. Also, some egg boxes that need to get put back in the incubator. The incubator is having some modifications for egg season. Pics of incubator soon to come.

    Hope you enjoyed the show,

Gorgeous work Tim. I'm green with envy! I love having the rats on flooring rather than carpet in the room, soooo much easier with the bedding clean up. I live for the day I can get a good shop vac to clean rat enclosures with!

Quick question about the blue lidded boxes. Are those your egg boxes? I use the exact same things in various sizes (with vent holes melted in) to move snakes, take to the store if I need live mice, put rats in when I'm cleaning enclosures, that sort of thing. I never thought of them for egg boxes though!

Tell Monica I'm on the search for blue rats too but unfortunately Cue doesn't live in Ohio, darn it all! LOL

Jo, you got it. We use those for egg boxes. I don't know how well they would hold a large clutch, as the biggest clutch we put in them last year was 8 eggs. I'll let you know how they do with larger this year, as we may get a couple 10 egg clutches.

Cue, they made the trip fine, and are happy as can be.

Stangs, we get those bags of Aspen from Harlan.

Thanks all for the compliments. The room is still in it's infancy, so I don't know how good I did yet, but I'm sure I'll find something that I would change after a couple months of use. And, keep firing away with questions if they arise.

Jake, I apologize for not answering in my last reply. At the moment, we are feeding 172 snakes. We do have a couple of mouse eaters, and do have a small colony of mice that have not made it into the new room as of yet.
