    Heat Lamp

Ive had my Ball python for over a year and Ive Been using a heat lamp, If i were to stop using it, would it affect my snake in any way, because I heard that heat lamps are not needed for Ball Pythons.

    Re: Heat Lamp

If you are asking do they need any heating then the answer is yes. Ball pythons need a temperature gradient, 82 cool side - 92 warm side. I prefer to provide belly heat. Some people can get the right temps with a heat lamp alone, but they tend to dry the air so I personally don't care for them. Do you have any other heat source, other than the lamp?

The most likely results of not providing any heat would be refusals to eat and respiratory infections.

I have an undertank heater as well, but I was wondering if i were to suddenly stop using the heat lamp, would my snake have any negative reactions?

If you can provide the proper temps without the lamp, then I'd go for it!

The only thing i can think of is higher humidity, which would be a good thing as long as is stays around 50%....
