Corn rack temps?

Hi,

Just a quick question - what should the temperature be at the hot end of a corns tub?

In the Kathy Love book I'm reading she says to give them a hot spot of 95f - since thats top end for ball pythons it seemed scarily hot to me.

What temps/setups do you guys use in a rack system.

I don't have a rack, but my high temps are around 80-85 and low side is around 70-75, and I haven't had any problems. Those are the temps I have seen most commonly used for Corns. Hope this helps.

I was keeping ours in the BP range---Crystal and Flurry are in sep. 10g tanks, and Kishnah is in the 3rd (bottom) tub of the little rack. She's cooler than the top two, which are my newest, baby balls. Kish's tub is 82/89-ish.

She's still being the little pig, pooing and shedding w/o any problems.

Unfortunately she's been drier...only about 38-42%, but I move her water and mist her when I catch her blue. Even missing a time or two, she's shed just fine.

But no issues w/having her warmer with the ball pythons.

Thanks for the input guys. I think if I decide to stick with only one rack then I might chance the corns in the bottom 2 shelves. Possibly with a dimmer switch on the flexwatt to lower the temps from the ball shelves if such a thing would work.

Would the same size tub be appropriate for the adult corns as the ball pythons (33 x 24 x 6 inches) or should I select smaller ones - say 24 x 12x 6. I could fit 2 of the smaller ones on the samne shelf but size wise they seem a little miserly to me.
