Re: Look at what I found!!!!
I bought her from a guy who had to get rid of her and three others.
I called the man today, and he said that his son sold the wrong one to me, that one was supose to go to his daughter in FL. But she was bred with his larger male...

Re: Look at what I found!!!!
I wouldn't expect her to just "do all the work" for you... if you decide to let her maternally incubate, you should read up on it first to find out what kind of conditions she needs in her enclosure to pull it off.

Re: Look at what I found!!!!
That is awsome
I would recomend putting the eggs in an incubator, its less stress on the mother and will give her time to recover.

Re: Look at what I found!!!!
I was checking in on her today and she has gotten eggs wrapped so tight that I couldn't even see them.. The temp is at 88 degrees and Humidity is about 75-80%.
If I pull the eggs, how do I need to approach it. For one, do you think that she is going to nail me (so far she has not tried to), but how do I go about pulling her without damaging the eggs?
At what temps do I need to have the incubator (by the way, it is a home made... 36" tall refrig, with a 2 1/2 gal aquir. full of water and a subsersible heater) I have had it up to 93 (middle of Refrg) degrees in there, but I need to know what I need to have it set for her eggs. I imagine that the humidity is right at 100% because everytime I open the door I get a pretty good soaking.
I do not want to pull the eggs until I have everything set up they way it needs to be...
I can't seem to find a sheet on what I should do.

Re: Look at what I found!!!!
If you want to do maternal incubation, here is an extremely helpful (and long) thread:
http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...nal+incubation
I found it utterly fascinating and personally, for a variety of reasons, I would probably use maternal incubation if it were me. Supposedly it's harder on the mother, but then, it's hard on a human mother to nurse and then raise her own kids too--but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to do it! LOL
(I know, snakes aren't people, they aren't even mammals and so on and so forth... but I still think the mother would probably prefer to incubate her own eggs, and personally I would want to let her do it if at all practically possible).
By the way: CONGRATULATIONS! What a fabulous surprise!
