nice 1,mine is a 400(restricted for the moment till i get my full licence) but still i get 140 mph out of it and a 0-60mph in 4 seconds and 0-100 in 9 so i cant complain there.try the new ducati monster 695 or any other monster, they handle like a dream, better than a hoinda in my opinion, iv ridden a few and prefer the ducati.

I'd love to get a monster 1000. I'd also love to go riding in your neck of the woods. If I had the money and space I'd have a monster, a buell XB-12R, and the '07 Kawisaki Z1000. I've been riding for around 10 years, but I've only had my license for like a year and a half.

    Re: MotorBikes

I had a '91 cbr600 F2 supersport... It was a pretty nice bike, nice and easy to handle, that is...until I slammed it into a deer...well i guess I should say, the deer ran into the side of me!

That banged me up pretty good, but nothing broken somehow. Was doing about 45 going around a fairly sharp turn with guardrails on both sides. Somehow i missed everything except the gravel i was sliding on, lol.

Then I turned it into a street-legal streetfighter. ripped most of the fairings off, put on a solo race tail, new lights, custom metal everywhere. Then about 3 months ago...I rammed it right up a vans tailpipe! lost the rear tire and lowsided it right towards 2 lines of parked cars at a redlight doing about 60! fun fun! lol, so somehow I missed both lines myself, went right inbetween em...but my bike didn't fair so well, it wedged itself underneath of a minivan so bad it couldnt be pulled out by hand.

Everyone around was amazed, as soon as i stopped sliding, i jumped to my feet, did a once-over to make sure none of me was broken or missing, and then I even helped the idiot tow truck driver push my trashed bike onto his truck! Of course he had no idea how to strap it down...So i had to help him do that too....

It did a lot of damage, snapped a clip-on off, bent the subframe out of place about 3 inches, and cracked the clutch cover.

heh, I just read this post, and it sounds like I'm 100% lying about all of this...Guess cause I'm dead tired at the moment...Well anyway, if ya wanna see a couple pics of the sad remains, look here - My Site

It'll be on the bike page.

    Later!

get ur as over here sometime, loadsa bikers from all over come here, some great bike clubs here too.my mate is in a club and they organise a few rallies through the year.not many ducatis in my neck of the woods, and the roads around me are crap but the main roads and stuff are great for bikes.ducati actually have their dealership in ireland up in dublin,,its pretty much the only place here you can buy a ducati unless you get somehwere else where someone traded it in which would be madness, its a DUCATI!!!!!!!!!

    woohoo great thead!

Sounds like most of you guys are riding sport bikes. I had a Honda Knighthawk 750 for a while. It was pretty good bike but it wasn't sure if it wanted to be a sport bike or a cruiser...it sorta both, sorta neither. Right now my garage houses a 2002 Suzuki Marauder 800. I gotta say for me (and the wife) the cruising bike so much nicer to ride. My wife is pretty small and she loves to ride so this bike has worked out great for us.

I've done a few small changes/mods on my bike but nothing to major. Changed out the front sprocket last summer as this bike is geared high...at highway speeds it was high rev for cruising bike. Went from a 15 tooth to a 17 tooth with no chain change required. WOW what a difference I can stretch out the gears so much more and feels like I have an additional gear. She still gets up to speed really good two. I'm planing to "stage 2" upgrade by spring. k&n filters (2) and new needles/jets for the carbs.

...How weird is this, as I'm typing this on the radio they just announced a huge bike event that is being put together for this summer here in the city I work in! I can't wait for spring!
