What do you mean temp zones above and below? Are you talking about setting one up for a ball python? Because they are not arboreal, so it's really a cool side and a warm side zone on opposite ends of the enclosure at ground level.

No, no one that I know has been able to successfully keep a ball python in one of those and keep humidity at 50% all the time during non shed and bumped to 70% during shed.

Is there a particular reason you'd want to use mesh over a tank or tub (I personally prefer tubs, because they keep heat and humidity perfectly, on top of not being so open, which tends to stress out ball pythons.
