The nerve of some people *My Rant*

My husband calls me at 6:30 am this morning. He works nights in a not so great area.... Some jerk decided he deserved our car stereo more than us and decided to smash the passenger window and help himself to anything he could grab. Normally I would just take this all in stride... But this is the second time in the last year this has happened. The first time my husband asked work if they could put out security lights or something, of course nothing was ever done. We have a car alarm which does no good as he works in a shop with 25 10-20 ton plastic presses so he would never hear it go off. And sooo work wont make the parking lot safer our's is the 3rd car this week to get hit, nor will they help fix the window, which I think is real nice of them seeing as they just switched pay period days from every other week to the 5th a 20th, so everybody is going 19 without a check. (we just moved which sucked our savings dry)

And I could call the insurance company but why raise my rates?? I guess it's easier to suck it up and just fork out the money.

2 hours it takes the police to get there and they casually reply not much we can do but we'll take a report. Nice of them.

Just give me 5 minutes alone in a room with this guy... Lets see how well he can rip people off with 10 stubs for fingers..

    *Deep breath*
Ok Im done now. How's your day going so far??

Wow that really sucks. Sorry to hear about that!

They should definitely do something about that parking lot. Lights, Maybe some cctv or network IP cameras or something.

My day's going alright, Just thinking about Daytona and thinking I need to buy another ball python soon to hold me over until the show...

That sucks, Sin! Pretty sad place to work that takes no interest in the safety of their employees and their personal property.

I've only ever had a car broken into once...that was almost 20 years ago. Happened so fast and so stupidly... I'd gone out to the car on my way to work in the morning...unlocked the door and sat down...realized I'd forgotten soemthing I needed and ran back into the apartment for a minute. Of course I closed my car door, but I didn't think to lock it for just running back inside for a sec. When I came out...I found the back window busted out and my stereo gone. The stupid car was UNlocked...but they chose to break the window anyhow. Idiots! And the police wouldn't even come out...they just took a report over the phone.

would you expect anymore. I left my truck unlocked one night and came out the next morning to find my gun gone along with a few other things. No policeman ever showed to my door, just a report over the phone.

Not wanting to start a gun debate here or anything, just wondering if it's legal to leave a gun in an unlocked vehicle in your state? I wasn't raised in the US with it's more liberal gun laws so I'm just wondering how it works here. I know back in Canada you would have faced charges yourself for unsafe storage.

Oh yeh if the world worked that way what would ever be the purpose of work to live an honest life? Oh hey I like thos earrings they match a dress have hand em over!

Thanks for the encourging words. It is nice to have a place to go vent something out and a few cute anecdotes and a few stories of what has happened to others to make you realize it's just part of life.

It was not a handgun which is illegal for me to own being under 21 but it was a shotgun legally registered to my dad. It is not illegal to have it in there and charges could not have been brought against me because I did not purposely leave the door unlocked.

It is legal unless it is loaded; I am about 90% sure of that, in my area (I don't say state, because I know that NYC hs stricter gun laws.)

At any rate, I loathe and despise anyone pathetic enough to steal some hardworking person's stuff. I sincerely hope that karma bites that lowlife thief right in the arse.
