So how fast are ball pythons? I know they can strick very quickly, but when moving and covering ground? I have seen pictures that people have taken of their snakes in the grass or something and I would think I would be scared they would get away...

Faster than you would think..........my girl is pretty shy, so if she's laying flat and i touch her, she takes off........but if it was life or death i would like to think i'm faster than her............but in a place like outside, or in a place like my living room (she tries to get under the couch) i don't take my eyes off of her!
"Why do you need so many snakes?"
"Why do you need so many shoes?"

Re: Speed
They don't usually move at full speed unless they feel threatened. I let mine slither around on my bed and they can move at a pretty good speed for an animal that has no legs.
