Tropical fish people: pics of tanks.

Here is my 55-g setup, and some of its fish. I am working on a community tank and almost have it where I want it. It contains:
    5 neon tetras
    1 albino redtail shark
    1 bala shark
    3 platys
3 female swordtails (want some males, can't find any!)
    1 pleco
    2 paradise fish (gouramis)
1 honey gourami (wanted two but the store just had one.)
    Pics!

I just made a collage out of the fishie pics to prevent "dead air" shots. Now, the paradise fish were a dull dark coloring when we got them, but really lightened up.. went back to the store yesterday and theirs are still dark.. maybe a feeding or lighting issue?

And here's my 10g mollie tank; I plan on adding some heavier plants so that when the females are finally preggo, we can have some babies!

All three mollies: (male on top, he's a lyretail.)

Fish people: do you think it'd be safe to add a few angelfish, or would they get aggressive toward these fish?

chances are very good they'll eat your neon/cardinal tetras as they truly are tastey crunchy morsels LOL

other than that... they should be fine with everyone else. angels are kinda like pit bulls... you get some good ones and you get some nippy ones... you just have to buy one and try it out.

Maybe I'll avoid them then; I really like the neons for some reason. In a larger tank like this, it is so cool how they cloud together and do not lose one another.. I have only ever seen people keep them in ten gallons before..
I do want to add some black skirt tetras and those reddish-rusty colored tetras that I forgot the name to..

pretty much all other tetras are fine with angel fish... it's just the neon/cardinals who are at risk.

    1 Gold Gourami
    2 Pearl Gouramis
    2 Paradise Blue Gouramis
    1 Blue Gourami
    2 Red eye tetras
    1 Chery Barb
    1 Albino Chery Barb
    1 oto catfish
    2 Hatchet Fish

we are working on moving a few of the fish from the 20 into the 30.

    30 gallon

    1 Redtail shark
2 Dalmation Mollies (male and female)

and thats it for now, I would love to get a pair of Kissing gouramis. Im falling in love with gouramis.

Jen, do your paradise blues like to jump out of the tank when you lift the lid for feeding? Ours love to come right on out of the tank.

Re: Tropical fish people: pics of tanks.

The Paridises are definately the most active gouramis i have ever seen. Neither one has jumped out yet, but they are always right near the top third of the tank, and the first to eat.. I have to make sure and swish food around so that all the other fish can get some too.
I love kissing gouramis; gours in general are just awesome fish that many people just dismiss as common; but they rock. Ever see a Giant gourami!? A friend of ours has one at his pet store and the thing is as big as our Oscars!
