    New Update on RTB soaking!

Went back into the room with the ret tails and pulled one outta the water to check him again for mites and again I didn't find any on him, BUT there were about 10 dead mites in his water bowl, I checked the female right away and her bowl didn't have any, also she wasn't soaking any more, well not really, she had the lower half of her body in her water bowl but the upper half was basking on top of her hide. Treatment for mites in RTB's is the same as in ball pythons right?

That makes sense.. the mites drown in the water..

Yes, treat mites the same way as with ball pythons.

Just wanted to make sure, I was looking online and some of the things i was finding on how to treat mites in boas seemed a bit off to say the least, well, looks like Leo is going to go in for a nice soak tonight :-p

Should I go ahead and soak Sienna (our female rtb) also since she was in the cage with him last night, even though there were no mites in her bowl, just to be safe?

I'd say yes, don't assume that there arn't mites just from the looks of things and especially when one already does and is in contact with the other. Plus..... it'll be fun..... if you take pics

Yup, everyone needs to be treated. Provent-A-Mite is a necessity IMO, for mites.. everything else is a waste of time (I speak from experience here.)

Yeah, I'm going to grab some today, I've never gotten P-A-M for my snakes before because none of them have ever gotten mites, the only time I ever encountered a snake with mites was when a friend of mine bought one from a pet store that had them.

Going to soak them today! I'll try and get pictures!
