Scale problem from shed...
Well, I have a 4.5 foot colombian Red tail, had her for almost a year. She was in blue for the past couple weeks, then she went clear, so I knew she was about to shed.
My brother was holding her the other day (while i was at work, with out my permission) And he started to take the shed off around her neck. Now, that she is done with the shed, all her scales/skin is nice and smooth and bright, except the part where my idiot brother took the shed off a few days ago.
With area where he took the shed off too early, the scales are dry and rough, and off color to the rest of the snake.
I put neosporin on her neck (where the dry, rough scales are.)
So my question is, should I worry now? I know it will correct it self within the next shed....but the skin is so dry and I dont like it.
What should I do?
Thanks.

It should correct itself with the next shed, so I wouldn't worry about the shed. I would worry about the brother though. Is there a way to lock you room or your girl's cage so that he doesn't have access to her?

No, because my room is his room
But I could find a way to lock the tank. He knows hes not allowed to even look at my snakes just for this reason. Thats why he took her out while i wasnt home.

Then I'd find a way to lock that tank ASAP. Have you calmly discussed this with your parents? I think they should be aware of his actions and the harm it could do to the snake and the possibility of an escape if he did not adequately close the tank.

Christie hit the nail on the head with her comments.................but just to add .......make sure you tell your parents, and then beat him up............
"Why do you need so many snakes?"
"Why do you need so many shoes?"

Re: Scale problem from shed...
I had this happen, well not the same thing, but the same effect, with one of my bigger girls. She was being a pain and wouldn't come out for cleaning and rubbed her back on the cage on the way out...It cleared up with the next shed. Don't worry.
About the brother...wouldn't it be easier to lock him up instead of the snake? haha

Ok...
Now i have another problem. I went to check her today...the rough scales werent AS rough, but still alot better.
And I noticed her eye had a bunch of dried puss on it, i think it was puss...whitish....stuff
So I soaked her, then the puss came off...her eye is still a little cloudy/redish. But no more puss.
I was told by a friend to clean her tank (i did) give her a warm bath (i did) and put paper towels for the substate (i did). And I took all the furniture out...just the bowl, and the two hides are left.
What should I do? A vet visit will not be easy to do...any reptile vets are over 100 miles away from me.
