really unique rats in litter..

I just cleaned one of the tubs that a mother and her babies where in and I saw this one rat in the litter really weird looking and it freaked me out.. totally different from the others, it had barely any fur and looked like one of those hairless rats.. its almost weaned size and has only a little bit of peach fuzz.. how did i get this from that litter? then i saw another one in that litter of a different color. could it be from inbreeding, because theres a pretty good chance that the parents were related.. ill post pics very soon.. once i find my camera

The parents probably carry hairless and the hairless baby is the result of that. No worries.

You just may want to stop with the constant inbreeding..

do hairless rats have peach fuzz still? and i saw those kinds in other litters too so your right the father must have been carrying the genes for hairless.. i bought both parents from the same pet store thats what i shouldnt have done because i dont know if they were related or not.

Yep, it's normal for them to still have the peach fuzz. They may or may not be "slap" nekkids, but they're hairless one way or the other.

Both parents have to carry hairless in order to get hairless babies.

AT a pet store I used to work at, they got a litter of patchwork or double rex rats. They were really cool. They would grow a fuzzy layer of unevern fur, then lose it, then grow it back. This would go on for some time until they reached maturity, then they ended up however (some had all peach fuzz, some had tufts here and there, and some were completely hairless) I thought they were pretty cool and bought one for my friend who lost his pet rat. MOst people thought they were ugly.
