Black lips
The title's pretty self-explanatory. Hayden has black lips.
I use paper towels as substrate, so it's not newspaper ink. The same thing is happening to Brutus, too.
Has this happened to anyone else? / Does anyone have any clue?

I wish I knew. Have you examined the inside of their mouth to see if the coloration continues on the inside? Hopefully someone else will chime in here......

The coloration doesn't continue into his mouth.
And, it changes all the time. Like, sometimees there will black covering the whole bottom part of his mouth and sometimes it's just little specks.

it might be POOP! Don't kiss him on the lips. lol
try soaking in warm water (1/2 way up his body) to see if that cleans it.
