    Solomon Island Ground Boas

I just bought some. I lust after candoia, all of them. Pics coming as soon as they arrive. Just wanted to let everyone know: OMFG I’M SO BLOODY EXICTED. That is all.

They’re supposed to be from Jerry Conway, and I just e-mailed him with a few questions he didn’t cover in his article. I’m gonna go pick up some anoles and house geckos to feed them so I’m all ready. I’d like it if they ate the anoles, because they’re not quite so cute. lol

Aren't they already feeding on rodents? I've heard that they can be very tough to get switched over to rodents so if they are already eating them I'd be very hesitant to go back to lizards again. Or do these just eat lizards all the time? Don't know that much about them, just curious.

It depends on the individual snake, I have 4 at the moment, and some eat rodents all the time, but others are real patchy so I just wait them out. The last one won't touch anything warm blooded yet. I have had a lot of luck with green tree frogs, although I do feel bad when I put them in with the snake. Good luck, theyre both amazing and frustrating (frustrating moreso than any of my other snakes).

MarkS, no, they're young and still eatting lizards and frogs. They apparently need to be started off on lizards from what I've read/been told. And then you switch them to rodents. You're right though, if they were on rodents no way I'd switch back to lizards. ^^

qiksilver, yeah, the guy said he doesn't have the time to switch them. Doesn't have tome for THEM, which is why he's selling them. So I get the adventure of trying. lol We've got a constant source of anoles, so I doubt they'll starve. What color are yours??

Jerry Conway got back to me already, yay! Answered all my questions. I'll e-mail him again when I have more (I'm sure I will).

you should just try out pinkies with them, give them two weeks or so then just try it out, you may get lucky, and if not, then try the lizards

I'm going to, the guy said he just fed them both frogs and they're being shipped first of next week. I'll try live pinks first and then if they take those, try and switch to frozen.
