While humans and mice both put out a heat signature (duh), and sometimes the snake may confuse you for a mouse when you're feeding him (if not using long tongs) because you have a heat signature greater than the mouse (plus it can already smell the mouse), any other time it can easily distinguish between you and food. As long as you wash your hands to rid yourself of any dirt/smells, especially if you own any mammals, you'll generally be fine. They're pretty smart, to a degree.
