    New additions

Do to a recent chain of events today I came to aquire four snakes. Three adult corns and what should be an adult ball.
All four snakes were housed together in a 40gallon breeder and fed sporadicly.

Now, when I got there the owner took me back to meet these guys. He'd just fed them today.
We talked for a bit and such and honestly this guy isn't a bad guy. Just misinformed and short on money. I promised to keep him updated with photos and such and brought them home. Luckily he will not be getting more snakes.
The corns aren't in too bad of shape believe it or not. I believe the colors are Anery, Albino and Normal though it's been awhile since I was 'into' corns.
The ball is the worst of the lot. It's almost flat it's so thin. And for being four years old is bearly the size of my yearlings.
SO, they are all in quarantine (seperatly now). Suprisingly they do all honestly seem healthy except for being underfed. I'll have them checked out this week and post pictures after they settle a bit.
I was told that the albino corn laid eggs two years in a row but they never hatched. She didnt lay the last two years though, can't blame her with that diet and environment.

    Re: New additions

Well they have done well over night. Enjoying their heat and hides. No regurges, even after having eaten and been moved all in the same night.
They are mite free and the ball has two small places of retained shed but that's it.

But this ball...he's not even a triangle, he's just like a scaley ruler. However he is alert and evidently still has a good feeding response. I'll see what my vet has to say Monday though I'm rather confident they'll be relatively problem free other then the malnutrition.

The old owner did get rather emotional over these guys. He's an older gentleman and life hasn't been fair recently and he'd realized he hadn't been fair to these snakes and wanted them in an experienced home. Too bad more keepers that can't properly care for their snakes don't make decisions like this. True, it should have happened sooner but what's done is done. He wanted no money for them, just a healthy environment.

Edited to add: I'll be keeping an eye on the female corn for eggs. For her sake I really hope she doesn't drop any.

Okay, because he somehow managed to dump his water the BP got his substrate changed and I weighed him. With three adult mice in him (what the owner fed last night) this four year old guy (or girl, not sexed yet) weighs in at a tad over 600 grams.
