One of our baby cockatiels is not doing well today. She has stopped digesting her food (crop is not emptying) and I'm concerned about her.

She is hand fed and approx. 3 weeks old

well in our experience... once they stop digesting their food they usually die within a few hours. hopefully she'll make it till tomorrow (with the assistance of the healing circles i've set up) and i'll call our vet to see if he has any suggestions.

i just did some research and it says that giving them baby applesauce is a remedy as it's natural probiotic and that's what they need to help empty their crop. so ... we just happen to have a jar here from our crested geckos... so my hubby is warming it now for her

well she wouldn't take the applesauce so we'll try again in an hour.

so odd. she's been growing sooooo well... doing so great. she was the runt when we pulled her from her parents. i've been so pleased with her growth.
