he will grow to be up to 10 inches long. much more manageable than some of the other popular torts like leopards and sulcatas, but just as much personality!
this spring when it starts to warm up we are going to build a tortoise garden in our backyard. this will consist of a small brick wall to keep him in (just a few bricks high), some kind of house for shelter, a small tub for bathing/drinking and a variety of weeds, wildflowers and grasses for him to munch on to his little heart's content.i've already started the indoor version of the garden--i got some long planters and planted them with dandelion, clover, every kind of wildflower seed i could get my hands on, mustard greens and collard greens. i can't wait until spring when we get to do the real thing!
