Hi,
It's never a bad idea to get a health check done on new animals anyway so the vet visit won't be wasted no matter what.![]()
I can't remember if anyone has mentioned this in any of the threads but do you know when he last shed? Have a look in his nostrils as sometimes little peices of shed skin can be left in there and cause wierd sounds - unlikely I know but always worth checking.
If you do manage to get any poop out the lil fella stick it in a ziplock bag to take to the vets (keep it in the fridge not the freezer -and make sure its sealed and you wash the outside of the bag to avoid smells / ill family members. also put it in a CAREFULLY LABLED tupperware box if you can as it stops mothers freaking out quite so much). I realise he may not poop just an fyi as the vet can check it for parasites. He might be able to check from a smear if he doesn't poop I can't remember - I'm sure someone on the boards said it was possible.
He will definately be able to check for an RI and possibly do a culture to determine the most effective treatment (can save money in the long run as you should only need to pay for one course of treatment).
And if after all that he pronounces him perfectly healthy he has now got a baseline to work from in the future and you can stop worrying about a lot of things.![]()
